Carl Gustaf Swedish Mauser 96 help

Hey guys, I have a Carl Gustaf Swedish Mauser (m-96) that I am working on and have a few questions. . .

1. I am looking for a good site to buy a used or new bolt for the rifle.

2. I am having troubles removing the rear site mounting bracket, is there a trick to it?

Thanks!

To the best of my recollection the rear bracket is soldered on. Is it not like a band that completely wraps the barrel. It seems like I had to heat it with a propane torch and then gently tap it loose. Can't really help with the bolt.

Hopefully you only need a part- and not an entire bolt.
I saw an auction for a nice M96 sans bolt, and looked into it.
Add up the prices from Numrich for a new bolt- ALL the components...

You're looking at about THREE HUNDRED bucks....

There have been none on Gunbroker that I've seen...

Seems to be that you can buy the entire rifle, for the cost of a bolt...

Not a whole lot unlike what some guys are asking for Mosin Nagant "parts".

I hope you aren't doing a Bubba Job. Turning an original condition Milsurp worth $300+ into something worth $100. But if it is already bubbaed then have at it. If you are turning a Bubba Job back into original condition then that is a very good thing.
