I recently purchased a Carl Gustaf 30.06 calibre rifle. It was a used rifle but in excellent shape. It was manufactured in Sweeden.I do not know if this is a good make of rifle or not. I have not been able to find anything on the internet on these rifles. I would like to know the age of this gun and if I chose a good make of gun.I am told that this gun is no longer made.:

My information is from "Blue Book of Gun Values" by S.P. Fjestad (1998):
Rifles from this manufacturer were imported into the U.S. between 1970-71 and 1991-1995.
Other than that, I know nothing of these rifles.

There were three different rifles made by Carl Gustaf, one with a standard Mauser type action, one with a 60 degree type bolt action and one with a Sauer action with a non-rotating bolt. I have never seen the latter and know the second only from pictures. There has been no importer for several years.

These should not be confused with Swedish Model 1894 military Mausers made by Carl Gustaf in the 1890s and early 1900s.
