Care for finish on SIG P226 9mm?

I just got a P226, and I went to the range last night. I love the gun, and I do know where that extra $200 went.

Afterwards, when I was cleaning it, I used Shooter's Choice Bore Cleaner to clean the bore. I also rub some of it one the muzzle of the slide. Will the bore cleaner mar, dull, or wear out the finish on the slide? This is a newer model, and it is black with the word "Stainless" on the slide. How do I know if this is Nitron or just regular Blued steel? Will the bore cleaner hurt the finish?

thanks,

The word stainless on your slide solves your mystery. You have one of the newer guns milled from stainless steel. You do not have a blued slide, nor do you have a K-kote. You have a blackened stainless steel slide that should prove to be much more durable than any of the other Sig finishes. It should be impervious to any standard gun cleaning solvent you will care to use.
