Carcano m38

So today I was at my local gun shop and i picked up a yugo m24/47. While the guy was calling me in i was looking around the store and noticed a carcano m38 for 150 so on impulse i bought it too, but i didnt realize how scarce ammo is.. I assumed ppu made some but i havent found any. Anyone know where ammo can be had? (i dont reload so please dont say reload)
 
I'm afraid 7.35 is not really an option most of the time. grafs has 1 item listed under that price I believe but it's always sold out and it's some brand I have never heard of, probably an inhouse brand. you could ask to be put on a mailing list but I wouldn't wait by the phone waiting for it to come in.
 
My LGS had 60 rounds and I bought them for 80.00. I bought the dies, and Hornady bullets and will now reload. A few years ago, I talked to a guy that I discovered on the internet that said he would reload them but I decided to do it myself. Sorry but I can't remember who it was. 100 bullets cost around 25.00 and I already have the primers and powder. I'm afraid reloading is the only way to go on the 7.35.
 
The big problem with reloading 7.35mm is the scarcity of bullets of the proper (.299") diameter. Cases can be made from 6.5 Carcano and 6.5 Mannlicher. The former is usually available, though not easy to find.

Cases can also be made from .35 Remington by swaging the case in a 7.35mm sizing die if you have a press with enough power.

I recommend buying a reloading manual. Even if you decide not to reload anything the information alone is worth the reasonable cost.

Looks like mine! They are kind of fugly/cool.

Prvi makes the 7.35 brass and it's available from Graf's. Hornady makes the correct size bullet and it's available from MidwayUSA. I believe Lee makes the dies so you should be able to gather everything you need to start reloading. A simple single stage press and a few other tools and you'll be all set for a new and rewarding hobby!
 
Not a bad looking rifle, everyone I've seen always is sporterized and heinous looking. How is the recoil on the 6.5 Caracanos?
 
I you want to shoot milsurps, you might as well get into reloading or it is going to be very expensive if not impossible.
