Carbine prices

I read the "Urban Carbine" topic and have renewed my interest in the M-1 Carbine. I have been looking around my area for a good GI grade carbine, and was wondering if somebody could give me an idea of what would be a good price range. I don't care for any special model like a Rockola, I just want a good reliable shooter.

There are two in my area 1 in two different stores and they are both universals,,,,and they are $325 or thereabouts....fubsy.

Here in LA they go for about $350-$550.
