Car/Truck Holster

I did a search, and could not seem to find an answer to my question.

I am looking for a holster that i can mount to my side console or lower dash to hold either a sig 226, 228, or beretta 96. This will be for traveling to and from work and will not be kept there when parked.

I have seen the holsters that mount to the front of the seat by a strap. And the one that hooks by the drivers side door, but i would rather not conceal every time i open the door (whether the gun is there or not).

Any recommendations? Thanks

I haven't seen one either. Was thinking about getting a good belt clip holster, and mount a home made bracket under the dash of my van. Just haven't done it yet because I almost always wear a shoulder rig. I'll have to do it this summer, when the 400% humidity down here soaks a t-shirt when you walk out the door LOL. ;)

Get a cheap plastic or kydex paddle holster and screw it to the console, or where ever else.

I have a couple, both in the house and truck and they work great.

Don't really have an answer on the holster but I'll tell you what I do. I've abandoned the idea of a holster in my vehicle, figure I may not have time to remove gun from holster. I have a S&W 58 with no holster in my console. when I had a truck w/a bench seat I got one of those seat covers with a pocket that goes accross the front. Had a M19 bare in that pocket to the right of my leg.

This is what I was referring to. This one is a cheap Fobus paddle holster I have screwed under a workbench. Works well screwed to the back of a door with a coat hanging over it too.

Just drill through the paddle and screw away. Gun can be mounted in pretty much any position and is held secure and pops right out when you grab it. Plastic doesn't absorb moisture like leather, so rust isnt an issue.

The Kingston™ Car Seat Holster was originally conceived in Kingston, Jamaica. Its purpose is strictly business, and ideal for surveillance! The driving holster is kept close at hand on the forward, vertical part of your car seat, positioned between the legs. It can be strapped on by means of the adjustable nylon belt with buckle closure. The holster itself is our N87 and may also be utilized as an inside the waistband holster.

My buddy has one of these. He uses it for a small semi-auto and he uses it almost daily. The holster can be removed from the rig and doubles as an IWB holster. He actually likes the set up a lot.

He does put a towel down on the seat to cover the strap and the gun, but it just looks like he is keeping his interior clean. All and all, it's a pretty slick set up. The towel covers the gun up when he opens the door and steps out of the truck.

The easiest way to do this is just get some high grade Velcro. One piece on your holster, the mating piece placed in the vehicle where you want it, and you are good to go.

The only driving holsters I have ever seen where for Bond derringers. They fit onto the seatbelts I think. You will probably have to rig up your own contraption.
