Car dealership in trouble over gun incentive.

We have a local tire dealer who gives away beef with tire purchase during an annual promo....
I think cholesterol and obesity kills more people than shotguns...

There is a dealership around here (or just a little south) that was giving away a free Benelli with the purchase of a new Silverado. Sounds like a good deal to me. And I don't recall anyone complaining.

It helps shape public opinion.

Demagogues use any polls they can find as anecdotal evidence to support their policies. The unreliable foundation of each source of biased information is forgotten as more and more unreliable sources are cited. Pile BS high enough and it begins to look like a skyscraper from a distance.

How is the car dealer in trouble? Have they been prosecuted for something.

One old biddy with her nose out of joint is "trouble" out there? Jesh, cowboy up out there.

Like VUPD said, car dealers routinely run these giveaways in Indiana. No one whines or wrings their hands.

I've seen car dealers run promos like that around here and don't see a problem with it either.

My local FFL has connections with some of the bigger coal mining corporations in WV. As an incentive to their hourly workers the companies promise shotguns to employees with perfect attendance and no lost time accidents for a year. According to my dealer, job related accidents and absenteeism have decreased dramatically at those locations.

Hell would freeze over before my employer would do that....:(

Seeing as how I'm self-employed, I can get a shotgun whether I'm absent or what.:D Seriously, that sounds like a good idea. Too bad they don't do that where I live.

How the heck could anyone have a problem with this??? It is not like they would force you to take the shotgun if you did not want it. I guess they figure some guy is going to buy an SUV to somehow get his hands on a shotgun to use for illegal purposes??? Give me a break.

September11,

I got me some of that free beef from good 'ol Les a couple years ago. Was tough as hell.:)

(PP! Hiya!)

This is silly. Dealer wants to offer shotguns to buyer who qualify, what's the big deal? --But Philly's the front line in the war against guns right now. We all need to keep a close eye. Those of you who live in PA, especially Philadelphia, please vote! Be active!

I would say that the dealership is making out like a bandit on this. They not only get free TV air time but they also get a link on the news article...lol.
I wouldnt be suprised if the dealer didnt make the call to the TV station...lol.
Of course somebody at the TV station decided to make a big story about this in hopes of grabbing the gold ring for thier career....lol.

The ad campaign angered local resident Anabella Hampton

"I mean, what's next, a semi-automatic with the purchase of a house?" Hampton said.

were do i sign!!!!!!! does it also come with the sign "this house protected by Smith and Wesson"?
