Got a new set of Wolff springs for my unissued Yugo SKS with grenade launcher, removed the magazine catch and sear as advised on http://www.surplusrifle.com/reviews/wolffsksspring/index.asp. So far so good.
Followed steps to remove hammer. That's when I hit a wall. Hammer would not budge. I can wiggle it move it maybe 2mm but then it would hit an invisible wall and move no more.
That's when I became creative, and tried several other things besides surplusrifle advices. I threw the kitchen sink at it to no avail. Tied with and w/o the sear/mag catch installed. I wiggled everything I could reach while pushing as hard as I could on that hammer. I can feel when it hits that whatever-it-is I can't see even with magnification.
What have I missed? What's different with this trigger group? Why brute force won't get that hammer out of the trunnion? Please, help!!
