Can't reassemble charles daly 'field' pump shotgun

I have a charles daly 'field' shotgun. It's 20 Ga and when i got it it would only hold 2 shells so i removed the nut in order to remove the plug in my hast i pulled the barrel off and now i can't get it back on it looks like the bolt is at a slight angle. It (the bolt) is also flat against the top, inside of the receiver so that the "Tab" on the end of the barrel can not fit in what am i doing wrong the manual says that the bolt should slide right out the front of the receiver but it won't move not even a mm. Has anyone else had this problem.

Not sure about your bolt being off center but here's the procedure for remounting the barrel. With the bolt/chamber all the way forward slip the barrel on and make sure the bead sight lines up with the top of receiver. Slowly pull back the bolt as you are feeding in the barrel until you feel it seated and by then your bolt should be locked back. Hope this helps.

Did you release the lock and slide the bolt back? That is what I always did when reassembling mine. Same for the 870 I have now.
