Cant find primers

I typically get primers from Midway Usa they have however been out does anyone know where to purchase any the local gun shops are also out of stock. ??????

Dude, where have you been? They have been out of everything since at least January. I don't know what the current back order status is but mine are due in FEB '10 from an order I placed in JAN '09. In fact if you can primers anywhere for reasonable price I would be impressed.

"Reasonable Price" is what the retailer wants for them. Remember the adage "I've got it, you want it, this is the price, take it or leave it. Your choice !!!!!!!!!!!!

Retailers don't have them anymore. Certain people bought at retail prices and then jacked them up to double or better. Same thing that happened to all the Walmart and gun show ammo earlier this year. If creating an artificial demand supply problem due to unfounded panic buying is reasonable, than prices are reasonable.

hello all! This thread has helped me to buy some primers for ALL of my reloading needs. I'm now going to do my part and inform you of primers in stock,

Powder valley, I guess I got the last of the small pistol mag primers, cause they are out of stock now, got them for 22.50 per 1k.....

Everyone I talk to says the same thing. 6 month back order. I put my order in at Mid-south in May. I called them last week. And they said my order should be shipped in November. However I did go to a gun show last month and they had CCI for $26.00 a thousand. If I did not have the back order in I would have grabbed them. So maybe things are starting to loosen up.

We have many discussions about primers going on right now.

Including some in Handloading and Reloading, which is really the best place to put such a discussion. Smith isn't the best place to put such a discussion.

Freon has provided some possible places to locate the primers, and as I noted, Handloading and Reloading has many more, which can be found by using the search feature.
