Can't decide which rifle??

I am new to the forum and I would like to purchase a rifle. I want a semi automatic. I want something tactical in nature. I would appreciate any opinions or options. I am looking to spend about 500-700 dollars.

You could get a pretty good ak47 for that prize range, arsenal,yugo m70!

If you could tell us what you plan todo with it that would help us a little more
 
tactical in nature for? Quality is always cheaper in the long run no matter what you buy. Take your time in making your choice.
 
Thanks a lot for the input. I really just want a toy. Something fun and easily maintainable. I don't want to hunt or anything like that.
 
for a fun cheap to shoot toy get a AR 15 or if you want something with a little more punch that is not quite as cheap to shoot there is the FN FAL in .308 for around 700 and change. Both are the "barbie dolls" of guns, tons of accessories out there for both. Just depends on how big the zombies run in your neck of the woods. Small to medium zombies get the AR, if your zombies are of the corn fed variety then the FN
 
If you want something easy to maintain and fun to shoot get a Ruger 10/22. I know it's only a .22, but the ammo is cheap. If the extra money burns a hole in your pocket, you can add tons of cool looking and functioning stuff to the rifle. Do a google/YouTube search on the 10/22 and you'll see how guys have souped up that little carbine. Now, if you are heart set on a tactical/military looking assault rifle, disregarding what I suggested.
