So i've been pondering getting a 45/70. My wife has been hearing me talk about it with my dad some. She actually came to me and said "haven't you been wanting one of those army type guns for a long time?"...obviously she knows nothing about firearms ....
I have indeed been wanting an AR for several years. Even created threads here once but was never able to actually get one. She actually said "Go get whatever you want, you deserve it"....ahem...now, the first question pops into my mind is , what does she want? Our 10th anniversary is near...ha....Second question(s) that pops into my mind....what brand, what barrel length, what scope, what grain bullet, what set of reloading dies, what powder, what bullet, what....oh...i'm gonna have fun ...HA.....just thought i'd share my good news
 
well...I think I will more than likely end up with a 20" barrel DPMS 223....honestly the optics will be the hardest part for me to decide on
 
nah....she knows what she is getting herself into...ha.....i still wonder what she wants for the 10th anniversary...that is the question....bet it has a diamond in it
 
Lol sweet deal (or so it seems )I would be ready to double whatever I spend on the rifle for her gift.

Sounds like a fine rifle. Best of luck choosing optics. Be sure of what you want the rifle to do. There are so many choices out there :)
