Cane gun info?

Yeah...tried Googling, but was unable to find any pertinent info. This hypothetical cane gun is verifiably old (1900 - 1920), centerfire, rifled bore, about 44 cal, with a dark grey bone (or horn, or plastic) handle. Rotating the handle while holding the barrel will open the action for loading, and rotating a smaller sleeve in front of the handle will expose the trigger. There are no markings on this hypothetical item, other than a stamped number.

This discussion is hypothetical because cane guns firing fixed ammunition are an "any other weapon" under the NFA and are illegal unless registered. In addition, they are banned by a number of state and local laws.

I have seen a few and while some were produced by regular gun makers and so marked, many have no marking at all.

There is zero market, of course, unless the cane gun is registered and few were.

Oh, yes, Jim Keenan...this discussion is definitely of a hypothetical nature. This type of item is illegal.

SDC...just the info I was asking for. Thanks!!!
