Canada - a new direction?

After more than a decade of Liberal rule, Canadians appeared prepared to hand a limited mandate to the Conservatives in Monday's election.

Finally, the "progressive" gun grabbers are facing the end of their all-too-long reign. With a conservative government in place, there's a chance that our fine neighbors of the North can reclaim their RTBA.

And let this be a lesson to us as well. It can take a long time to oust the liberal/left once they become intrenched, and the damage they can do in the meanwhile is immense. Vote your guns, vote republican this year!

I'm not so sure. I read the conservative guy wanted to strengthen the border between them and the US to stop drugs and guns from coming in.

Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.

Say whatever it takes to get in power. Then do what you must to keep that power.
Isn't that what politics is all aboot? ;)

this comes from 21 years in Canada

my personal observation is that, in general, Canadian conservatives tend to be further left than American conservatives.

I don't see any change for the better in Canada's future, just a slower rate of decline.

hope I'm wrong though.

The idea that violence is a symptom of American ills creeping over the border is such a widely held notion that he probably has to pay lip service to that idea. Hopefully this election is the death of the 'turn in your guns or we'll bring ours to come take yours' movement.

The Liberal party deserved to be routed. Corrupt and gun grabbing, they had it coming.
