Can you still send back a revolver to S&W for rebuild?

I had heard of people doing this. Wondered what was entailed and what it cost.
I have a Model 19 I would like gone through.
 
Depends on the gun.
They may agree to re-finish an older gun still, but they don't have some of the parts to rebuild entirely on guns that pre-date the frame-mounted firing pin.

They don't have 19 barrels, hammers, firing pins, etc.

I just got my M28-2 back about a month or so ago and, while I'm not sure you'd call it a "rebuild" the work they did was pretty extensive. What was done is as follows: replace broken trigger stud, re-time, reblue to original brushed blue finish (or as close as they can get with today's bluing chemicals), recut forcing cone, reset barrel-to-cylinder gap. The total cost was about $350 and a few months wait, but it was worth it to me as they did an outstanding job and this revolver has a lot of sentimental value to me (my first wheelgun).
 
I sent a 19 to Springfield last year. They turned the barrel, replaced the mainspring (which was broken), did a re-bluing (that was $220) and checked everything and test-fired it. The total was $342. But get this... The whole process took SEVEN MONTHS. Yeah, their summer break was in there and that time-frame was during the height of the last "gun-panic" but still... 7 months is a long time... yet I'm overall happy with what they did.
 
Seven months? I could do that standing on my head. Fords had one of mine for over a year.

If you are in a hurry good gun smithing services are going to take time.
 
I sent a beat up model 19 in for work. Changed out front and rear sight, cylinder release, yoke, hand, all springs and refinished removing pitting and rust. Took about three weeks. Cost about $350

Call them and ask. I don't think they are hurting for work so much as to feed you a line of garbage.

The type of work that doesn't require parts they no longer have, they can still do.

Just depends on your definition of "rebuild" & what you want, or the gun needs, them to do.
