Bought this box at a gun last year for what was inside of it (the NOS N frame Combats). Have been advised since then that the box is Colt.
Any ideas what model came in it?? Approx. date??

Well, the 4 3/4 and 45 indicate a Colt Single Action, and NRA, maybe a commemorative. Just a guess.

Excuse me, that was rather presumptous of me. The question was to Colt experts.

Those guns were made in two calibers, .357 and .45 Colt, but there seems to be some discrepancies in the total produced/shipped.

One source seems to say there were 7000 of each caliber but not all were shipped. Another gives production figures and they add up to 6200 for NRA commemorative production, both calibers combined. FWIW, the latter book says 1200 .45 caliber were made with 4 3/4" barrels

FWIW, AFAIK that's not the gun's "box", as referred to by collectors - it's what's referred to as a "shipper" or "sleeve", that the real box with the gun inside was slipped inside of for shipment.

Here's a sample (Ruger used the same system prior to plastic casing)
