Can you build a 25-06 Varmint rig in $750

Alrighty guys, I'm on a quest for an amazing varmint rig. I am going to set it up for long range on yotes and down. I want to do a build on this rifle, so I don't care how we start. I want a shopping list as to how you would set up a 25-06 rifle in $750. Mind you, this $$$ mark DOES NOT INCLUDE optics, I already have that picked out and bought a long time ago.

So, shop away and tell me what you would do on this build!

Sure. Buy a used plain-Jane vanilla Remington 700BDL, send it to ER Shaw for a new barrel (about $400), there's your 25-06 heavy-barreled varminter.

Or a mauser 98 action which can be had a numrich. A barrel could also be found there I bet and a composite stock and get it parkerized.

I don't know if Savage makes one in .25-06 but if not: Base Savage or Stevens for $300 or less. Drop in bbl with gauges and wrench for $300 or so and the rest is glass. Not much for $150 but a Mueller APV would be pretty good for that. You could even go cheaper than that if you went with an A&B bbl. I have one in .358 Win and it is remarkably good quality and accuracy for the money. Could shave $100 or so off the price. If they do make one in that caliber: one of their Varmint models and a scope.

Yes.

Done.

Next question.

Oh yeah, that last link taylorce provides is even better - a 112 BVSS - they don't offer that one anymore - I'd be on that like white on rice if I were looking for your parameters in a gun, well if I could look at the bore/throat anyway.
