I bought an RCA 700 watt 6 speaker home theater last night. Now it sounds great for the money,$400 i got 2 front, 2rear 1 center and a 200 watt powered subwoofer. Anyway i hooked it all up and realised my tv is a little old and has only a yeelow and white connection , Audio and video inputs. Now until i get a new TV is there any way to use my system when iam not watching my VCR? Also since i think i got a decent reciever which is the important part right? I can always upgrade my speakers later, what should i buy? What brand? There is nothing like a home theater system, normal TV is no comparrison. Now about that big screen TV.......
Thanks,45automan

I've got a pretty new Mitsu 35" TV, I always use my VCR when wanting to AMP up the broadcast sound. My TV volume has to be WAY up for the system to produce decent sound, so I just left it unhooked, and go with the VCR. One thing you CAN do is turn on the VCR, select the channel you want, but select TV/VCR to TV, meaning they both have to be on the same channel, but you're using the TV video feed instead of running it through the VCR.

If your TV is older, it may not have stereo output anyway.

BTW--if you don't have one, get a DVD and throw your antenna away, I just watch movies anyway.

Saving Private Ryan last night until 0130.

Spielberg is commie-pinko-gungrabbing-elitest=klintonsupporting-a#$hole, who happens to make brilliant movies.

Everytime I refuse to watch one, because it's a Spielberg film, other people tell me how brilliant it is and then End up watching it, like Saving Private Ryan. That was a great film, the beach scenes will disturb you for weeks, and even though some people said it was an anti-war flick, I don't think that it was completely. Anyhow, I think that the beach scene should be shown to my generation all the time to remind us of how easy we have it, and anytime we want whine about rough our lives are, we should remeber what it was like to storm the beach at Normandy.

(by my generation I mean generation x)
