Can my Rossi snubnose take +P ammo?

I just got a Rossi and I love it. My question is if I can load it with +P ammo. The manual says nothing about it but I know since it's a snubbie I don't want to risk damaging my new investment and thereby void the LIFETIME TAURUS warranty. Anybody know about this situation?

I wouldn't even recommend a steady diet of +P in a brand new J-frame.

If you mean "Can I keep it loaded with +P JHP's for defense without it blowing up in my hand?", then the answer is "Yes".

If you mean "Can I shoot a box or two of +P JHP's through it every day without it developing timing and endshake problems inside the first 500 rounds?", then the answer is probably "No".

Hope this helps.

(As a PS, I don't even really recommend steady use of .357 Magnums in a Model 60 or Taurus 605: "Safe to fire" and "Can stand up to the abuse of lots of firing" are two different things. If 125gr .357 Magnums can split the forcing cone and/or stretch the frame on a K-frame gun, what do you think the longevity will be like on a J? Of course, most people don't shoot nearly enough .357 through the little pocket flamethrowers to find out; the recoil makes it a sort of self-limiting proposition. ;) )

I have about 300 rounds through my Smith 640, all Magnums and no problems yet. Hot loads in these little guns can be very hard on your hands. My advice, which I will be using myself, is to shoot standard pressure loads for practice with the occasional cylinder full of hot ammo for familiarization.

I agree with our Tam; as I don't even shoot .38 Special +P's
in my vintage Smith & Wesson Chief's Special model 60.:(
Although, I do carry it stoked with +P's, strictly for some
type of defensive situation's. :D :)
