Can I Legally Convert My Benelli to a SBS?

Hi,

CFI Arms (http://www.cfiarms.com) is selling 14" Benelli M1S90 Entry barrels.

Can I register my post-ban Benelli M1S90 as an SBS, so that I can purchase and install one of these barrels?

If so, how would I go about this? What forms need to be filled out, what is the cost, etc.?

Thanks!

My opinion only. If your state allows SBS then it should be OK. It ismy understanding that you need to fill out the forms first and be approved. I would be very cautious abt purchasing one and having it in the house along w/ the shotgun. You would get into a grey area (you would have all of the parts necessary to make and "manufacture" a SBS). These always seem to be avail so I would wait to buy it or have your class III dealer hang onto it until you get approved (4 months?).

It prob is going to be a form 1 or a form 4. I believe both are a 1 time 200.00 tax stamp.

Thanks for the info, scottMO. After doing some research on the Tom Bowers board, http://www.subguns.com, it appears that in my state, Nevada, SBS's and SBR's are not allowed. They are allowed in California, however!?!?! Go figure. Anyway, I'm going to call the ATF to confirm on Monday.
