Can I fire form .40 or 10mm to .41AE?

This is kind of a new one on me. I've been hand-loading 30 years, and have an opportunity to buy a nice gun super cheap. It's a Tangfolio in .41 AE. (CZ clone)

I'm not going to use it for much but to play around with, but I can't find any brass yet, and just began my search for a .40 or 9mm barrel for it.

I've never fire-formed brass, but for those of you who have, do you think it will work from .40 or 10mm to .41AE? I have the tools to cut the 10mm brass down, and like the fact that the webbing near the case mouth is thicker than the .40 brass. This, however, may make loading heavier bullets impossible.

Your thoughts on this are appreciated. I'm not locked in yet, so can bail if it's just not going to work.

Qual-Cart lists .41AE brass, but you'd have to check to see if it's actually in stock.

It's a nice cartridge. And you might be able to pick up a 9mm barrel for plinking; some of the Tanfoglios were sold with two barrels so they could shoot either caliber.

I would not try to fire form brass to .41 AE.

Fire forming is usually for the neck and shoulder area.... not the base.

Not to mention... it is a "rebated" rim design... it has the rim diameter of a 9mm case, as does your slide breach face.

EAA... sells barrels , conversion kits etc... for your Tanfoglio.

You should be able to just buy a 9mm barrel ( and mags ) and keep the slide, or buy a different .40 S&W complete conversion kit. ( and CZ's and their clones can be "fussy" with .40 S&W. )

Have the serial number handy... since they will want it when you order.

Not likely feasible. .41 AE has a case head of the same diameter and other dimensions as 9mm Parabellum. SAAMI doesn't even acknowledge its existence.
.41's case mouth is .434". .423" for the 10mm. Lengths are different too. .992 for the 10mm. .866" for the .41. .41's rim diameter is .394". 10mm is .425". Rim thickness for the 10 is .055". .050" for the .41.
.40 S&W is 16 thou shorter than the .41. It's case head is 1 thou smaller than the 10. Most other dimensions are the same, including the angle on the rim.
It's rumoured that with a lathe you can make the stuff out of .41 Mag brass.
Nobody makes ammo. IMI said many years ago they'd do a run if somebody ordered a million rounds. Ammo-One wants $3.95 each.
Quality Cartridge says they'll make brass when sufficient back orders build. $58.97 per 50. Midway still lists QC brass as "temporarily unavailable". It was listed as that in 2009.
Buffalo Arms lists brass as on back order, but back order is ok. Buck each when you order 100.
"...loading heavier bullets..." .41's max bullet weight is 210 grains. 215's are too long. Have AA data if you want it, but you'd be better off putting a 9mm barrel in. Assuming you can find one. Try EAA. http://eaacorp.com/
Bought a barrel for my Inglis BHP when the .41 was new. Saw an article in a gun rag talking about your Tanfoglio and went nuts. Also bought 500 pcs of brass. The experiment wasn't a great success. Most due to a lack of cast .410" bullets up here. Jacketed is just too expensive to shoot regularly. However, the needs a heavier than recommended(in that article) return spring. Much heavier recoil has me limp wristing the thing every time.
