I was just wondering as to if this were possible, as I saw an interesting job with the LVMPD, as Firearms Specialist. LVMPD(las vegas metro) carries Glocks. Any repsonse would be appreciated. Thanks,

Mike

Well, I went as a civilian several years ago when Jerry Lane had the contract to teach. I think I was the only one in the class. All the rest were LE & military. They didn't charge for the class back then either. It cost me one night in a motel room ,gas, & food. They still might allow civilians although I've heard that they charge for the class now. We had fun with the G18 at the indoor range on site.:D

Glock Armorer

Mike,
I am a gunsmithing student at the Colorado School of Trades in Lakewood Colorado. Every six months or so the Glock Armorers course is offered. The cost is $90 to students. I am not sure if it is the same price to others.
It is an one day class and comes with lunch and a tool kit.
If you are close it should be worth the drive.
I have taken the Colt, and Beretta Factory courses and find them very worthwhile.
Daniel :-)

Civilians can go to the Glock school, but typically must be a certified gunsmith (in business, a graduate of a gunsmithing school, etc.) or sponsored by a range or gun shop that can do or does do repairs.

(A friend of mine worked at our local range and got into the school that way; he's now going to gunsmith school.)
