I'm going to have to request a bit more detail from you in order to leave this thread open. By "survive", what did you have in mind: Impeachment? For what? Revolution? By Who? Coup D'Etat? UN Invasion?

He's not coming up for re-election; so these seem to be the only means by which his administration might fail to "survive"....and none of these are exactly real world.

Don't take this wrong... But what's with suddenly putting two posts regarding opinions on Bush? Ain't one enough?

ONLY by legal means of course, through the democratic process ONLY. Sorry for the lack of clarity, I forgot about the World we live in.
We get it - you hate Bush.
Thats an unfair comment. It's a valid question/poll and is not biased one way or another. I suspect 66% for Bush BUT I am really interested in people's thought processes, not censorship or name calling. As of today 47% of Americans think Bush handled the disaster poorly, 46% say Bush did OK. If you are sensitive about Bush now, just wait another week, you will be taking Tums by the fistful. :D

He'll use this event to springboard into the Lord High Emperor for Life position.

This has been turning into a Bash Bush festival for the last few days. That's quaint. Always take the EASY target.

But how about some facts...

1. There have been other presidents under whose administrations the levees didn't get updated, either, including Clinton, Bush 1, Reagan, Carter, etc.

2. The state of Louisiana, the federal goverment, and big oil have for many years been devastating the marshlands that front New Orleans from the ocean. What's so important about those marshlands? Live marshlands can dramatically reduce the effect, power, and height of a storm surge, yet miles and miles of those fronting marshes have been killed off in an effort to increase NO's and Louisiana's economic viability.

That's been going on for decades.

3. Also at the behest of Louisiana, the feds, and big oil, channel creation and dredging has dramatically altered the ability of the Mississippi to replentish its own delta. Sediments that otherwise would have gone to maintaining the marshlands fronting NO are carried to the deep ocean where they do absolutely nothing.

And before you start screeching about Bush's connection to big oil, that's been going on longer than the Bush family has been in oil.

4. A storm of this magnitude and destructiveness has been predicted for many years, and NO has been hit by nasty hurricanes before. Where was their master plan for a disaster? As best as I can tell, NO's only plan is to yell, loudly, SAVE US!

All of these should have been addressed LONG before Bush ever took office, and by a long litany of local, state, and federal authorities.

And yet, everything is Bush's fault.

Not surprising, really. Limited minds usually don't try to tax themselves and seek out the biggest, easiest to see target available.

telewinz is just doing his part to weaken resolve and sow dissent. If they don't have a reasonable argument at the moment to blame Bush, they run a poll that generates generic disapproval numbers that mean nothing but are reported as being significant. They gain their sense of self worth in knowing that they are one of those number in the disapproval column. It assures them that they are not alone. By constantly running these polls they show that they are weak in both numbers and mind.

BTW : I personally have no great love for Pres. Bush and oppose his policies in many areas.

Well, lessee. He's not been accused of any High Crimes and Misdemeanors that I'm aware; so that leaves out impeachment. We have no process for a Presidential election recall that I'm aware; so that leaves out the "democratic process".

So, I guess I don't understand the poll or the query. This us not The Fantasy Forum.
