Can Anyone Describe the Beretta Elite II?

I have a 92FS Inox and an Elite. Can anyone tell me the various differences of the newer Elite II?

Thanks,
Steve

you sound a lot like me.... I've had a 92G Elite for a little over a year now and just picked up an Italian made 92FS Inox police trade in (w/ night-sights and 15-rounder).

The Elite II is just like the Elite w/ the following exceptions (I hope I can remember them all....)

EII has stainless slide, EI has bruniton.
EII has novak sights, EI has regular 3-dot
EII has 9xD mainspring, EI has regular
EII has checkered front/rear grip, EI is slotted
EII has slightly heavier skeletonized hammer than EI
EII has bigger mag-release button

That's from the top of my head, but I believe that's all correct and all there is.

If you are thinking of upgrading... The EII is nice, but no reason to give up an Elite (unless you want to avoid holster wear). Just get a D model hammerspring and you're all set. Well, the Novak sights are nice too...

hope this helps,

The EII also has stainless allen head grip screws.

Unlike the inox Beretta, the safety/decock levers are bruniton as are the moving parts and the ejector pin.

The front sight of the EII is dovetailed into the slide and is bruniton, not part of the slide metal.

The EII also has finger serrations on the front and rear of the slide.

IMO, this is the best looking gun you can buy for less than $1K. VERY slick.

It will lighten the trigger pull

It's from the DAO 92 and provides a lighter and smoother pull. From what I've heard, the only reason the standard 92's spring is heavier is that is what is specced out in the M9 in order to reliably light hard primers

Steve,
If you would like more info
go to the Beretta-L websight at:
http://beretta.squawk.com

Click on FAQ's and More, and then
click on General FAQ

There is much info there.
Also pictures of the brand new
92 gun called the Vertec which is
compact sized, Both sights removable
vertical grip with no hump,
shorter trigger reach,accessory rail
Black stainless barrel on black gun.
The Vertical grip reminds me of
the old 1911 .

And most importantly, it shoots just as accurately and reliably as the Elite 1. A friend and I shot my E1 and his E2 back to back for a couple hundred rounds. No difference except the sight picture (not sure if he had novaks, but they were nice target sights, made a pyramid). I'm sure there are lots of small changes, but I don't think it performs any differently. LAter.
