Can anybody help me find some information? I'm writing an article about the media distortion of Columbine and other mass shootings.

I need to know the name of the teenager who was wounded tackling a gunman at his school, then later refused to condemn guns as the cause and also revealed he was a member of the NRA.

I'm also looking for the name of the headmaster who stopped another gunman after retrieving his personal firearm from his car.

Finally the name of the caretaker who stopped another shooting at a school dance using his shotgun.

I know the descriptions are a bit vague so I'd be grateful for any help in fleshing out the details.

The shooter's name was Luke Woodham. This was the first of such school shootings in the U.S. BTW, they wanted to prosecute the assistant principle for having the weapon on the school grounds. Sheeesh! It should also be noted that Woodham stabbed his mother to death before the shooting.

However, this is the shooting that happened in Edinboro, Pennsylvania. The name of the shooter was Andrew Wurst.

The first was at a school in OR I think. He was a wrestler who waited until he heard the gun click on empty before jumping the shooter.

Funny how we can't remember their names but the scum from Columbine (purposely left nameless here) will be burned into our brains forever. An anti biased media, nah. :rolleyes:
 
The principal's name in the Pearl, MS incident was Joel Myrick.
 
Well spoken Greg L. The heroes are forgotten, the villians publicised. Shows who the media are in spiritual sympathy with. Too bad the shooters aren't cremated and flushed down the toilet. If the villians aren't scorned for what they are then it is no wonder copycat events occur.
 
Thanks for your help guys, you have inadvertently highlighted the thrust of the article I was writing. We all know the names of the perpetrators, few of us know the names of the heroes and finding the information from media sources is nigh on impossible.

I guess it really goes to show their values doesn't it.
