Can A winchester 1300 shoot slugs?

FAT DUCK

Hi everyone.I have a winchester 1300 defender. I was once told that I could not shoot slugs out of it because the barrel is smooth. (not threaded). Is this true? The barrel also apperes to tapper from the base to the tip. Will the slug get logged in there and exploed? What is the nitty grity about slugs? Can any shotgun shoot slugs? I need help?

Your Winchester can definitely shoot slugs, and will probably do best with the common rifled slugs or the various Brenekkes. Avoid the sabot loads, they're better in rifled barrels.

Most shotguns can use slugs. Usually, open chokes are best for accuracy.

winchester super-x

Try the winchester super-x 1 once rifled slugs. They're great in smooth bores. You can fire any rifled slugs out of that gun.2-3/4 inch is plenty of blast for deer or bear.
