I'm wondering how much +p ammo a "W. German" P220 can handle. I plan on practicing w/ regular factory 230gr, but would possibly like to try some 200gr +p for defense...and would like to shoot some, not many, at the range.
FWIW, "Newer" P220's beginning with ser. # 219166 supposedly have the new "+P" frame along with heavier 20 lb. recoil spring & lighet wt. hammer spring.
Yes, It's a good idea to get the tubular steel recoil rod also if your 220 doesn't already have it. the "old" recoil spring is 15 lb., the "new" OEM one is 20 lb. and is painted green. More info @ http://www.gunsprings.com/SemiAuto/SigArmsNF.html#Sig220
