Camping packs/Fanny bags

I'm looking for a replacement for the old camping fanny pack from my Boy Scout days. I've added some gear since those days and think it's time to look into something newer and more comfy. I'm almost reduced to wearing a backpack over my gun belt, but for long hikes and what not I'd rather have a belt that attatches up and over the shoulders.

I'm basically looking for a black rig that amounts to a pair of suspenders attatched to a belt that might have a few various pouches for gear. It need to have open spots on the belt for holsters, knife sheaths, normal gun belt stuff. Also would like a large pouch on the lower belt for the bulk of my carry gear, and maybe a few little pouches on the shoulder straps.

I've basically seen something I like on the various episodes of COPS, where they carry a little web suit over their uniform that attatches to their duty belts. I'd like to find something like that but don't know what to have google look for...

Thanks for the help!

Military Style Web Gear

Jfrey,

This link has a military Load Bearing Equipment (LBE) rig. You can attach an endless array of holsters, pouches, flashlight holders, canteens, and even fanny packs. Most of these are attached to the belt, but youl can also get pouches and gear that attach to the suspenders. This type of rig can be purchase from high end suppliers or your local Army Navy Surplus Store.

Belt, Belt Pad, Butt Pack, and Pouches sold separately!!!

Have fun.

I love fanny packs...

Oops, sorry, now I see that this is not really what you asked about, but as far as hunting/camping packs go, I have and like and can recommend either/both of these as very good, VERY large fanny packs:

1. Gerber "Quadrant Lumbar":

I just detach the fanny from the hydration pack and use the fanny. Sometimes I use the hydration pack only.

2. Badlands "Monster":

The badlands is arguably the Cadillac of packs.

As you can see, both have the option of the shoulder straps. But they don't really have gunbelt modularity hardware. I didn't know Batman *went* on camping trips. :p :)

That Gerber looks like a nice rig!!! But then again, I really like the versatility and upgrades available with the one from copsplus... Oh darn these hard camping decisions... Thanks for the options guys!

I didn't know Batman *went* on camping trips

He used to. Actually ran into him once, and when my standard pack out for a two hour hike had two water bottles, a flash light, spare batteries, two knives, G17 with 2 mags, a first aid kit, rope, waterproof matches, bug spray, and a signal mirror, he got embarhassed that I was more prepared than he was. Haven't heard from him since! :D
