I picked up a Beretta last week and really liked it, minus the camo dipped finish. It took a little over a week to get the camo off and then refinish. I like it much better now....

I'm impressed...and it does look better...a lot better.

Any idea what brand of camo was on it? And what did you use to remove it? And as long as I'm asking questions, what finish did you put on it?

Used a can of BIX paint stripper to get the camo off. Camo was the stencil and then dipped into what ever to make it stick. Took several days to get it off. Used a brass brush with BIX to lightly do the checkering. Finally used Acetone and steel wool to get the problem areas..

Stained it and then several coats of satin polyurethane. I have done several before with Tru-Oil, but I like the satin Polyurethane look better. I also refinished the 870 in the first pic. The 870's finish was melted when I got it from being in the trunk of a police car.

No wonder it looks so good...you did an awful lot of work. I know how it goes though, I once hand sanded a Pachmayr Decelerator pad to fit an 870 Express. I think it took me two NFL games or more to get it perfect.
