Slopoke, Ms. Paglia does occaisionally venture into the realm of libertarian thought. Whom do you think she has touted as a presidential candidate, female? = Dianne Feinstein. Nuff said?

"Dianne Feinstein is in my view the leading
contender for next year's Democratic vice-presidential
nomination. She is manifestly well prepared to assume the
presidency in a crisis."

Zieg Heil!

A female Pol Pot as a U.S. prez? I'd be in Canada before nightfall!

I have to admit that given Ms. Pagila's stated pro 2nd amendment, pro RKBA stance I am somewhat mystified by her choice of political candidates. Bill Bradley was HER choice for president. Huh?

Still, if you haven't read the whole article, you may find it worth your time.

Here's an excerpt from another part of the column - a letter written to Ms. Paglia speculating upon the anti 'mentality.'

----
I speculate that their motives are
an unhealthy mix of the following:

1) Fear of the unknown (guns). 2)
Fear of those unwashed "others"
who might own guns. 3)
Insecurity about their ability to
protect themselves, with or
without a gun. 4) Childlike desire
for some big, burly father figure to
protect them. 5) Childlike desire
for a soft, pink, fluffy world with
no sharp corners, threats or
dangers. 6) Sublimated fear of
penises/male power, as embodied
by phallic guns. 7) Deep denial
about the roots of violence in
human nature and, by extension,
their own capacity for violence. 8)
A self-righteous belief in their own
moral superiority.

Paglia is am extremely intelligent, Liberal, maverick feminist who actually enjoys men.
Mainstream feminists like Steinem,Millet and Faludi; radicals like Dworkin all would be overjoyed if Paglia suddenly dropped dead.

I make no attempt to totally understand her, nor to explain her inconsistencies...she does value honesty and a battle based on merit of concept, not deceit as is the current gun control battle. She sees the hypocracy, the duplicity, the deception and lies of the left in this topic, thus she rejects them.
Why she is still a Democrat.....I dunno
