I'm getting a little curious, and starting to think about adding a pistol caliber carbine to the colection in the distant future. So I might as well start finding out what is available.
In general, I have no idea whats out there. so lets have this thread dedicated to every 9mm, .40, or .45 carbine available. Anything goes.

Pictures are always welcome. Lets make this a good one!:)

I second the vote for a UMP45. If you're going to be contemplating the purchase for a while, start saving. Heck, check out the Kriss while you're at it.

marlin camp carbine

that cheap all black plastic one, looks like its from mars...forgot its name....

i guess w/ those calibers only, leaves out the lever actions from marlin/henry

The magnum levers .44/357 can be quite useful. The marlin camp's are ok too but a bit delicate. I’m more of a plinker when it comes to my pistol caliber carbines so I use my integrally suppressed 9mm AR more than the others.

think magnum

The auto pistol caliber chambered -semi carbines are all too underpowered when compared to the lever magnums.

For a truly versatile and useful pistol caliber carbine, go w/ a magnum lever.

My HK USC in .45ACP is a great pistol caliber carbine. Simple action, easy to clean and accurate. Add to that it is well made, can shoot .45+P and .45 Super if needed. Nothing says hello like a 230 grain bullet finding its way down a 16" barrel. For close quarters in an urban environment what more could a guy want? It is basically the civilian version of the UMP. While it comes with 10 round mags there is a company that sells 20 round mags for it that require no modifications. I own several of the 20s and a half dozen of the 10 rounders. In the 10 years I've owned my USC it has never had a FTE, FTF, or any broken parts. It'll be around long after I'm gone. :D

i have a hi- point 9mm carbine with a red dot scope and even though its fairly inexpensive and not real pretty its a very accurate and reliable carbine. the only downside to one is magazines. 10rd. mags is all ive seen. i know there were some 15rd. mags made by pro-mag( i think) that were unreliable. if hi-point would make some hi-cap mags that would work i think they would sell alot more of their cool little carbines. as far as calibers, i think right now all they have is 9mm and 40.

I own two pistol caliber carbines (Keltec Sub2K .40 and Puma .44 mag lever action), with a few more on my wish list. Pistol caliber carbines are very accurate in the 50 to 100 yard range...plus they are cheap to feed. My wish list includes a .357 16" lever action, the hipoint .45 carbine (IF it ever comes out!!!) and a marlin camp 9mm.

I have 2 camp 9s, a Keltec sub 2000, and a VZ24 that is chambered for .45b ACP and uses 1911 mags. I love them all. I've sold a STEN semi auto and Uzi semiauto because they looked cool but weren't accurate or comfortable to shoot.

I've been tempted to get a replacement slide assembly conversion to turn a 1911 into a carbine, but keep hoilding back. Maybe someday.

I also might get a Ruger PC 9 and will definately get a Marlin 1894 .38/.357 16" lever gun. It seems all I ever see are the longer barrelled and octagon barrelled models.

IComplaining about a pistol caliber carbine being underpowered is like complaining that your 3 cylinder hybrid is underpowered.

Of course it is, that's the point isn't it? If you wanted performance you wouldn't be shooting a pistol caliber carbine.

personally in the calibers listed ( not my cup o tea ) I guess I'd go with a Ruger PC - 9 or PC - 40

but I would rather have the AR that shoots 10mm

... honestly though, the levers are more my style...

here's one you won't see too often...;)

Custom Marlin Carbine in 50 A.E.... tube holds between 10 & 12 rounds depending on how big the bullets are that are stuffed into it...

I have a CX4 with a red dot. I love this gun. I would like to marry it. Its accurate, cheap to feed, FUN. reliable, ergonomic, LIGHT!
20 round 9mm clips, no recoil, looks beautiful

however, the price went up 80.

if you want a cheaper more retarded cousin, theres the hi-point
http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/60668

they recently changed the stock, so it looks different. I cant say its better or worse looking, but from what ive heard, and for $230, cant be beat

My HiPoint 9mm is nothing special to look at, just a red dot on top. It gets the most use at the range though, especially once I started reloading. They're coming out with the 45acp version later this year (I checked) and it would be very tempting to get one. The shop foreman I talked with said they're receiving the stocks as we speak.

That being said, I would love to have a CX4. The ergos are fantastic and I suspect the quality is much higher.

I've got a Marlin Camp 45:

I don't have a chronograph, but I would estimate it pushes a 230gr RN bullet at about 1050-1100fps, judging by downrange effects. About as destructive on targets as a mid-load 240gr .44 magnum from a handgun.

It shoots flat enough out to about 125-150 yards, and then you start having to add Kentucky windage to it.

A 9mm carbine will probably get you 1500fps or faster, and out to 200 yards.

Next time I get drawn for javelina, I'll be taking the Camp45. Right now, it serves as my HD long gun.

Tommy gun

Classic cool, and heavy enough to beat a water buffalo to death with, if needed.

I have one, and mine appears to be one of the better ones, as it works pretty well, will shoot a 1 hole 5 shot group at 25yds, and hit the 200yd rifle gong with the ladder sight.

Nothing says I am a serious plinker better than a semi auto Tommy gun (and now days it also says I can afford the ammo...somehow:rolleyes:)

Of course, you have to be strong enough to cock it, and worse yet, hold it up. But if you can manage that, its a lot of fun. And if you can't...grow stronger!:D
