Calling all LEO 2 -California

I live in Kalifornia, I carry my pistol unloaded and in a locked case for shooting at the range.
I know alot of people who carry loaded pistols in their car all the time.
These are not BG's just hardworking family-men and women with clean records etc.
Getting a CCW here is next to impossible.

Question---What if you pull someone over for a traffic violation, Do you always ask about guns??? and what If you found one in a car by a person who has no record etc. what would you do???
I haven't been pulled over for a traffic violation (running yellow light) for about
15 years.
Based on the people I know I would say about 1 in 5 people carry loaded.(kindof scary)
