OK, I am trying to find and purchase a CZ-83 in .32 Auto.
I called a few gun shops to ask about price and availability.
One shop tells me it has been discontinued.
One shop tells me it woulld be a special order from the manufacturer but they were not willing to do it.
One shop tells me that they do not import them into the US.

So what is the deal?
If the gun is still in production is there anyway that I can purchase one short of flying to another country to get it?

Thanks

They are no longer being imported, they can be imported for a case lot" of guns. CZ Connection (Phil) may have an idea or CZUSA is the dist. for the states. The .32 didnt fly off of the shelves and they may have a couple still. They will sell to any ffl not just distributers.
CZUSA 1.800.955.4486
Phil CZ Connection/Hit and run 1.888.207.2220
If this doesnt work...let us know. We can find you one....
Shoot well

Good Luck!

I wanted to make the same purchase (CZ-83 in .32) as I am also a CZ enthusiast, but couldn't find the CZ-83 in that caliber anywhere, even though CZ's web site offers it as a choice.
If you do find it, chances are you'll pay through the nose due to its rarity.

A good alternative (and about $150.00 cheaper) would be a Bersa in .32. Easier to find, lighter, and seems like it would be a good gun. At least, the Bersa .380 is.

Called CZ USA today and like Eric said they are no longer being imported into the US unless you purchase 40 at a time. CZ Conection aka Hit and Run aka The Gun Shop received the last shipment into the US. He is all out of the .32's.
For anyone that is intersted he does have some in 9mm Makarov. He seemed like a really nice guy and was more than helpfull.
Now it just looks like I will have to find an individual that has one.

Like I have said before I wanted this gun in particular because it was one of the larger framed .32's that I know of. This should make a very light recoiling gun fro my girlfriend. I think that a .32 being shot from a .27oz gun would recoil less than any 9mm or .380 wouldnt it?

Go get the sig

If she is that concerned about recoil, then I'd advise you to get the Sig P230, and get a Hogue rubber monogrip for it. A gun like the CZ-83 or Sig P23x has a blockback action, so while the recoil impulse has much less kick, it gets delivered more quickly and feels kind of snappy.

If you put a rubber grip on it, the snappiness of the recoil will be soaked up, and there won't be much of a push behind it either. The P232 with the Hogues was really comfortable to my wife, I'm sure that the P230 with a .32 would be a walk in the park (recoil-wise).

And, at the risk of offending female TFLers, the Sig P230 is a compact and sleek looking gun, so it probably a lot more appeal to some women.

I think anything shot from a quarter ounce gun would be excessive. ;)

A CZ83 in .32 shouldn't be unmanageable with proper technique and adequate practice.

Here is a thought. The CZ83's in .32 are our there but you may have to be patient and may take a while. The .32 doesnt recoil much less than the .380 gun. Polemis has all three calibers and
comfirmed this. There are three things you can do to lesson recoil on the .380 gun if you want....shoot ammo with not much recoil...buy some and test different kinds. Call CZUSA and put a brand new recoil spring in the gun...just in case the present one is a little weak. Add a slid around rubber grip...or some grip tape
on the front and back straps...helping in her grip.
Just .02 cents....Shoot well

As i said before, a Bersa .32 is very similar to the Sig 230 in .32, which I own and love. If i could do it all over again, i'd get the Bersa. It's the same weight, feel and style of handgun, for half the price, plus it holds 2 more rds in an extended floorplate. And, a lifetime warranty.

Really, trust me on this. Save yourself some $.

Several weeks ago, a shop here in town had a CZ-83 in .32 NIB. I'll take a peek this weekend and see if its still there. For some reason, this store regularly stocks several .32 guns and some odd ends.
