California shipping question

I know some FFL's refuse to receive a firearm from a non FFL, but that's not federal law, merely their policy. But what about California?? I was just told that it's against the law for an out of state non FFL to ship a handgun to an FFL in California. Any truth to that?

No. No one cares (legally) who ships a firearm. The only thing that matters is the receiver, and that means that in most instances the receiver better have some sort of FFL.

Not only is that not true, California law specifically allows a California dealer to receive a firearm from an unlicensed individual in another state. It's in the California Penal Code, Section 12070(b)(14).

Thanks guys. I assumed this was another uniformed FFL, but living on the east coast, I couldn't argure California law with him.
