MORNING
New to sight. Hope I'm doing this right. When I just registered, I notice a article at the top saying,"New gun law next year for Colt Python 357 mag in California". Now can't find it. Anyone know or heard about this.
Thanks for help, MERRY CHRISTMAS

Welcome to The Firing Line! I don't know anything about that law, but there's a forum further down the page called "Law & Civil Rights." You might have more luck digging around down there. Or maybe a mod will move this thread for you.

This is all I could dredge up, do your own research first.

Other then that, NO SALE. California requires that any handgun allowed for sale within the State must first be submitted to the State for a safety drop test. Since Colt has not made the Python available to the State for the drop test, it is not on the approved list of firearms for sale in California.

Now just perusing the CA DOJ firearms site, the 6" Python stainless *is* listed, so not sure what's going on.

Guns over 50 years old may be subject to different rules and regulations on the far left coast. The Python was introduced at the end of 1955, so if you find one made before 1960, it may elude the so-called "safety" listing requirement.

Vintage Pythons, the #1 choice for gangbangers.

So that means my S&W Tripplelock would also be a top gang bangers choice I guess! Plus those nasty Colt SAA 'assault pistols'!

And notice how crime in California is so low and here in Texas it's so high!
