California-Legal AR-style Rifle in the Works

I saw this on another forum and thought some folks here might be interested. I don't think these are shipping yet, but maybe soon. I believe he idea is that these are NOT AR-15 rifles, but rather AR-STYLE rifles with fixed 10-round magazines. You load them by opening the action and using stripper-clips to insert rounds into the fixed magazine from the top. I know this must sound like a sad joke to those of you who live where you can still get the real thing, but for Californians, this would at least give the look and feel of an AR, and the ability to use a variety of standard AR uppers. Anyway, here's the webside: http://www.gogogadgets.net I was fortunate in that I bought several ARs before the ban, but I know a lot of Californians who would sure like to be able to get one. While obviously not perfect, this is an option for them.

That's a good idea for those that MUST have an AR but if I was that determined I think I would save up for a preban.

In CA "assault" rifles are out period, there are no such things as pre-bans. The state law is more restrictive than the federal law.

I looked at the link. That has got to be the most cumbersome loading firearm in existence. I would rather have a Winchester 94 in 30-30. Watch-Six

I agree about the loading method being a pain. I wish these folks (or someone) would figure out how to make one that could be loaded from the bottom, or maybe side of the magazine. That would be tricky, but even if you had to manually compress the spring (using an external knob or something like on some pistol magazines), and then slide the ammo through a port or door in the side. Or maybe someone could design a Garand-style clip that would hold 10-rounds and could be slipped in as a unit. Or maybe a way to compress and lock the spring to the floorplate, then have a hinged floorplate that could be opened (spring and all) to allow stripper clip loading from the bottom. Obviously, all of these would be tricky to design, but they might be better than having to push out the pin open the whole action to load.

That picture/spec makes me sick! I don't know how you guys can live in Kalifornia. Are they still a part of the United States of America or have they gone independant.:barf:

As a person living in captivity in occupied Kalifornia, that picture makes me sick too. We are outnumbered by the socialists. Many of us are stuck here due to our family ties and jobs. And, many of us grew up here and don't want to be forced from our home by evil people. You would be amazed at how fast the tide can turn against you. 3 years ago, we could own decent guns. The idiots in this state elected a Democrat assembly, senate, and Governor. Now, we have one gun a month, semiauto bans, handgun bans, fingerprinting and licensing soon ect.. It really sucks. I hope your state is not next.

Those of us in Maryland are going to have to be on special alert since it looks like our illustrious Lt. Gov., Ms. Townsend, will be our next fearless leader. She has reportedly said that she will make Maryland the first gun and hunting free state. She has not said how. We have tons of laws, and still have crime.

The California laws, like most gun laws, are pure racism and fear of minorities. The lawmakers look at South Central LA, look at the Mex gangs, and decide that they have to keep guns out of the "wrong" hands, wrong being any color that is not lily white.

Gun controllers are racists, and we should never let them forget it. The rhetoric of those supporting gun control is often about controlling "them" and keeping "them" down. The wink and nod are common among the gun control gang just in case one misses the message. Of course, they sucker blacks and others into their clutches by promises they know cannot be kept. It is the same sad story of racist white hypocrites getting black support with lies.

Dave3006,

I'm here in El Lay, and I'm just as pissed as $*@% about all these restrictions, not to mention laws in the works for 2003.

But let's not point fingers at "Democrats", for example. Remember that it was a Republican guv'nor (Wilson) who signed many of the offensive bills into law. Not that the current imbecile is any less flacid...

Instead, let's just call 'em bozos, and the sheeple that elect them, nincompoops.

With respect,

Brian, your point is well taken. My take, in general, is that the Democrats are evil and the Republicans are just stupid.

Here is something I think everyone in the now free states should remember, you are just one election away from losing all your gun rights. It happened in Kali. It can happen to you.

Not to Flame but what gun bills did Pete Wilson sign?
I dont recall any, in fact he vetoed earlier versions of the Don Perata so called assault ban.

After Oly ran into trouble with it's OA-15 pistol, G-Tec was making pistols that fed from mags welded in place as you describe, loaded from the top. Ugh!

So many liberals. So few trees.

You watch: the NEXT law will be either:

"any rifle with a non-traditional stock, thumbhole stock or pistol grip that holds more than 2 rounds," or

"any rifle that holds more than 3 rounds," or

"any repeating rifle," (and then they'll claim double barrels are repeaters), or

"any 'sniper rifle' (bolt action and can accept a scop mount)."

Recall them. Impeach them. Hang them. Now.

This wold be class action lawsuit material for sure if the ACLU wasn't really afraid of Blacks and Latinos.

LOL! My first reaction was to laugh :D.

Gawd. Any number of .44Mag/.45LC leverguns with 14+ in the tube (which will be legal first of next year) would be far better.

Whatever happened to that pump-action AR project, using standard mags? THAT sorta made sense, in a sick sort of way :).

The thing pictured above is a nightmare .

Wow, what an idea, from the makers of the "Pole Tote". For $6.95, you can have a tactical sling for your fishing pole ;) :barf:

Move to Massachusetts:) It may be cold and you'll still be wearing shackles but at least they still allow us an AR.Just don't expect to buy any handguns unless they are S&W

Man, that has got to suck! Thank God I do not live in Krapifornia! If I did, I couldn't have these:

AR-15 in 10 Round stripper Clip Version?

That is ok so long as it is 10 Rounds of 300 or 270 WSM.

And it will shoot into 1/2 inch at 100 yards.

And with built in scope mounts.

Good Recoil Pad and light too.
