I am looking for a source of information regarding the transportation of firearms and ammo in the state of CA.

Currently, I drive a truck and usually take 2 pistols to the range. My glock which I have disasembled with a cable lock through the frame and a lock on the box. The other is a .22 which is in a locked box.. Both pistol boxes are in a duffel bag with the ammo..... Is this going to be a prob if I get rolled by the Police?

Any source of info would be great.

My understanding is that the handguns must be unloaded and in a separate, locked container from the ammo. (Ammo does not have to be locked up..just the gun.) I think the way you have them is fine.

Contact the California Rifle and Pistol Association (CRPA) or go to a good bookstore and buy "How to own guns in California and not go to jail".
