denfoote, Shin-Tao: Thank you for the invitation. When my wife and I retire, we (and our California-sized pensions) will be relocating to a gun-friendly state like yours. We won't vote any communazis into office, I assure you.
Beemerb: As long as that "five guns" is the lower threshhold and not the upper limit, we're within your regs. Let me take a look inside that gun shop of yours anyway, though.
Glenn E. Meyer: Californians don't favor gun control. The legislature doesn't represent the people and hasn't for many years. But if you've got a fake shrimp business and enough money, you can get a law passed. The FBI sent several state legislators to prison for this stuff a few years ago, but it was the tip of the iceberg.
Our insurance commissioner is under investigation for allegedly penalizing insurance companies for crimes by making them contribute millions to a private institution run by his wife. He's still in office!
Dan Walters columns, found at

are a good source of info on the sorry state of our state representatives. This week, he recites the myriad ways in which the state has taken power and funding away from local entities to spend at the state level for political "pork" for their contributers.
"One of the oddest, slipped into the budget by Gov. Gray Davis and Democratic legislators, is a $5 million multimedia tribute to comedian Billy Crystal's immigrant family at a private Los Angeles museum,
designed by a Walt Disney subsidiary."

Can you f***ing imagine the arrogance of these "lawmakers?" I still can't believe that's not a joke. Kind of like the feeling I got when Bruce from West Oz informed us all that Sean Connery is an anti.
Anyway, us native Californians have always been a rarety here, and most of us end up getting chased out. Single-lot tear-down houses in our area are now going for $250,000; yes, a quarter of a million dollars and you too may apply for permits to build your dream house, according to plans approved by your local homeowners' association or Board of Architectural Review.
Not for me. I need a new state. Thanks for the invite. I won't make any trouble.
Be safe, shoot happy.
