I can't seem to find it anywhere online (typical), but on CNN Headline news this morning, I moticed there was a quick blurb in the little box at the bottom:
Califonia is reporting the first rise in homicide in 7 years. It's up 27% for the year 2000.
If you go by their 1999 figures (the only ones I could find), that means murders went from 2,006 to 2548.
Gee....when did they start all those bans and confiscations?
I did find one link that would support this, although it is only for Los Angeles. From Jan. to June of 1999, there were 196 murders in LA. Same period in 2000, 247 murders. About a 27% increase.
