California hand gun hunting

Grouse can be taken with .22lr handguns. Pigs, bear and deer can be taken using a handgun. I don't know about elk, pronghorn or bighorns, but I don't know of any reason, offhand...

Grouse can be taken with .22lr handguns. Pigs, bear and deer can be taken with a handgun using center-fire cartridges with soft nose or expanding projectiles. Section 353, California Department of Fish and Game Regulations. Elk and Bighorn Sheep may be taken with a pistol or revolver with a barrel at least 4 inches in length...I didn't find anything about antelope...

Ricky- I also didn't find any requirements regarding energy. Is it in a different section?

Big Bill- Te acuerdo...

That may be old info

That info may be out-dated. I remember reading that in the regs book several years ago.
