I just won a set of these off of ebay

--Caldwell Deadshot Shooting Rest Combo.

I was hoping some people could give me some advice on what to fill these up with? And before everyone jumps down my throat and yells SAND!!!:eek: please be aware that I'm only asking this because of the following reviews from cheaperthandirt.com

Anyone have any experience with these, and if so, what did you fill them with? Rice? Sand? I was thinking about a mixture or do you have some other advice? I've heard of people using black lava sand too.

Rule of thumb: the heavier and firmer the bag the better they work. Too light they will move and too heavy they are a pain to move.
 
I bought mine pre filled and I think they are filled with crushed corn cobs (like tumbling media). They seem to work really well.

I am with ENC. It will give you a nice firm rest, but it will also allow some moulding on the bench.
