Caldwell Pic mount brass catcher.

I am a brass hound, and I hate chasing my brass.

For AR's I had been using a cheap Caldwell Velcro bag. It works sort of..

I picked up a replacement. Trying a Caldwell rail mount bag.
After a few hundred rounds of 223, 300 Black out and 308 win in my AR10.
I can report that this item is one of the few that work as well as advertised.

It mounts easy enough and since I liked it I have added rail brackets to all my AR's SO swapping from gun to gun is super easy.

It cost a little more than the Velcro bags. But after years of dinking around with alternate ways of collecting brass. " Spend the MONEY!!!" Its worth it.

The mount is adjustable for just about any configuration. I also liked the single point. I look at some that had two contact points and I was not 100% sure I could fit it on all my AR's with different scope set ups. This one does.

That does not mean the bag is done. I added a piece of plastic in the mouth of the catcher to hold it open. This keeps it from plugging and creating jams.
It still has a useful life on my Hi-Point 45acp carbine.

Do you find it hampers your shooting when the bag begins to fill as to the balance of the rifle? I guess it would depend on the capacity of the bag. What is the fired brass capacity?

I've got the same one. As for balance, it will if you shoot until its full. I usually dump it after about 20-25 rounds. I can live with that knowing I won't have to search for my cases. Also, you can order extra mounts so you can move the bag around and don't have to remove the mount and swap the mount too. Overall, I like it a lot.

I havent noticed any issues with the 223/300 black out loads.
30 rounds not a problem.

308 20 round mag not a problem.

But I haven't ran around doing any tactical exercises and doing multiple 30 round mag dumps. Might be a little much to ask of it.
I use Tula ammo for that.

As a side note: If your also interested in reloading for the SKS and AK's
They make a good brass catcher for those too.
I hardly ever shot these until I got the catchers. Now my round counts are up at least 200% with both of them.
I would have to search a bit to find were I got them.

Cant find my AK catcher image.

Both work really well.

I've got the same one and love it. I usually dump the bag after every 25 rounds or so. With the money over the barrel mounted cheap ones, imo.

Curious

I am really curious about this. I have been debating on getting one. But always think it looks like its going to bug my OCD. I'm very about how I shoot etc.

Does anyone have experience with this?
