Caldwell Emax vs Howard Leight (Impact Sport) Muffs

So I've been looking to pick up a few pairs of electronic muffs (my first)
I don't wanna break the bank but I come across 2 pairs that seem to have mostly good reviews.. problem is I have trouble finding anyone comparing them directly against each other.

Caldwell E-max muffs seem to be on sale a lot at Cabelas for 20, and the Howard Leight I've done research thats shown it in the mid 20's on sale.
So Price is not much difference.

Near as I can tell the Caldwells are better at electronics response time and have a better fit/profile for using rifles (check welds).

The Howards are suppose to have better clarity in the amplifications, and possibility better comfort on the ears for longer periods.

While I'll take anyone's general advice I'd really like to hear from people who have tried both 1st hand.

I like my Howard Leight ear muffs, but I find that I need earplugs too. Especially if shooting at an indoor range. I just double up then turn up the volume.
