Cajon Gun works & CZ75's question for folks who who have dealt with them.

I was wondering what are the thoughts from people who have had their guns worked on by these guys.

I'm particularly interested in their reduced reach and defensive carry package.

Does the 5mm movement of the trigger really make that much of a difference in both DA & SA mode?

I have smaller hands and have difficulties operating the handgun in double action, so in wondering what ya'll thought of the length of trigger pull after it was worked on.

There's also a lot of take up in SA mode for my particular handgun, so I wasn't sure if this is addressed in the DCP that they offer.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Send it too David with 100% confidence. He knows what he is doing and is a great guy to boot. He knows his CZs. He used to post here under the handle schmeky.

I remember when he first started out in the CZ custom game. His trigger reduction kits were his first product IIRC.

I have never heard anyone who did not like their trigger reduction work. In the CZ community he is well known and respected. In the CZ world there are two places to send your gun. Cajun Gun Works and the CZ Custom shop.

Call him and he will answer any and all your questions. Post pics when you get it back!

I have no direct experience with them, but a co-worker is a CZ-75 owner and he sings their praises loudly and often.

An inch is 25.4 mm. That means 5 mm is 1/5th of an inch -- approximately 3/16 of an inch. You can tape your trigger back by that much and see if it makes a difference. I think it's significant.

I have placed multiple parts orders from CGW and have nothing but praise for everything they sell. I am a DIY kind of person so I do all of the work myself. But, if I didn't I would have 110% confidence in sending my gun in for David and crew at CGW to work on. David still posts on a number of other forums and even went so far as to do a detailed write up on smoothing the action on CZ pistols. So basically giving his secrets away for free to the community. That makes me a repeat customer with 3 pistols full of CGW parts.

As for the parts I don't have any experience on the reach reduction kit. The defensive package I can give some input into. When finished it will be like a different gun. Smooth, light and a crisp trigger in both DA and SA and 100% reliable with any ammo. His extended firing pin (or the one from CZ Custom) I consider the first thing anyone should install to tune a CZ. It offers reliable ignition when using a lighter hammer spring. The firing pin block lifter will help with the SA take up, but it will not eliminate it. As it is nearly impossible to eliminate that because of the operation of the firing pin block safety feature.

I've been meaning to do a small write up on this. Recently ordered a SP-01 from CGW and had them give it the Pro-package treatment, and swapped out the stock night-sights for the fiber optic front/blacked out rear sights.

Arrived several weeks later with a 3 lb 11 oz SA and 7 lb 11 oz DA smooooooth pull.

This was purely a fun range gun for me and it is exactly that. (personally I try to keep my guns for personal protection as stock as possible...I digress) I have full faith in Davids abilities and wouldn't trust my CZ with anyone else. At the end of the day I walked away with an amazing SP-01 for just under $1000.00 which compares to most of the features of SP-01 Shadow Target without the features I don't like (oversized safety and flat aluminum grips) and was considerably less expensive.
