Cabella's

Now I know why Slinger was frantically looking for the Cabella's catolog earlier, he made me almost burn supper helping him look for it. LOL :)

Cabelas' shooting catalogue is pretty cool. When you go to the web site, make sure you get a free copy sent to ya.

Out here in da tundra of Minnesota, we have a HUGE Cabela's outlet. Looks like a safari museum. So cool. And EVERYTHING you want on display. They even have a "rare gun room" (bring LOTS of $'s).

Only a 45 minute drive from my door. (snicker).

I feel so badly for the "underprivileged", who only get the catalog...

Since we are on the subject....
Dennis, what is Cabela's policy regarding gun sales?
Bass Pro no longer sells center fire semi-auto handguns in trying to become more politically correct and not alienate their family oriented customer base. I guess they (owner John Morris) have forgotten it was we evil gun owners that made Bass Pro what it is today. :(

Slinger,

Cabela's does still sell handguns, but the majority of firearms are long guns, as mentioned some with BIG price tags. In the past 5-6 years, the numbers of handguns has thinned. If you check the GunList, Cabela's usually has an add in it. I've had the opportnity to visit both NE stores, Owatonna,MN and Mitchell, SD stores, and can and do spend hours in them when I get back to the Midwest.

My favorite is the bargain cave. Most my camping gear came from there!

Say, I visited Cabela's new store in Dundee, MI a few weeks back when it just opened up. Never seen so many trophy mounts in my life. They were still working on the outside terrain. That and the Bass Pro in Auburn Hills are great stores.

I bought BOTH my mini-14's from them. Since I'm a WI resident, I can't get handguns though. But they had a 30 foot long glass case chock full o'handguns. They charge $25 to ship to an FFL. Competetive prices.

And you can spend half a lifetime (or so it seems) in their store.

They have to have the nicest all around outdoorsman catalog in the world.

I have no experience with firearms with these guys...but have been buying fishing tackle and camping gear from them for years. I think they are great...they are to outdoor goods what Crutchfield is to electronics....
