Schwarzenegger, the hard-bodied superstar of "Terminator," "Conan the Barbarian" and "Total Recall," has been called on before to save civilization – but only on the silver screen.
Reviving the decimated California Republican Party, which suffered record defeats in 1998 and lost four congressional seats in 2000, would be a real-world test for even the toughest cyborg.
