CA...MA...NY.. How Does It Happen??

CA MA and NY have some of the most anti-gun laws going. And surpise surprise, not all of their residents are stupid. Yet they elect Boxers, Feinsteins, Kennedys and Schumers and historically tolerate opressive and restrictive anti constitutional crappy laws.

How does this happen???

Ed, well I'll tell you how it happens... you start out in the 60's with several very liberal colleges like UC Davis, Berkley. Add communists for professors. Mix with drugs, free love and all the rest. Have these poor little rich kids grow up into positions of power. Shake with a good dose of peer pressure that you ain't nothing if you are not poltically correct. And you end up with a majority of the citizens who's only reasoning power is touchy feely.

What also helps, is to put all the rats into one cage (a large city). Soon they will be eating their young and killing each other off. Just natures way of population control.

Look at the givaways Algore has. He already promised to spend more then the expected Tax Surplus after all he's for the "little guy" Kennedy, Shummer, Boxer and
Feinstein are no different..

Given the choice between freedom and security I'd choose freedom any day!

In my opinion, and as a NY'er (upstate), I believe it is due to the fact that all 3 states mentioned have large urban areas with gobs of people on the dole and looking for the next handout. They are always looking for the next person promising them something for nothing. I read earlier this year that 1 in 7 NYC residents is on the dole. That is a huge voting block, and the liberals are good at getting those "underrepresented" blocks of people registered and to the polls.
 
How does it happen? The government runs the schools, and gets 12 years to brainwash the kids who grow up to be voters. The amazing thing is that it isn't much worse!

You HAVE noticed that politicians are very careful to keep their kids out of the government's schools, haven't you? And the segment of society which follows them in using private schools for their children are... public school teachers. THEY know that those schools aren't primarilly for education.

All our rights are going down the tubes so long as the government gets to brainwash our youth. Separation of school and state is the way to go!

You have to add generations of constitutionally ignorant voters entering the work force and eventually you arrive at the current situation. The question of whether or not a legislative action is constitutional just does not arise.

Worse yet, the question arises in one case but is dismissed in another case. An example is the first amendment. No, we can't legislate movie content because that infringes the first amendment, yet we can pass hate crime legislation. Only constitutionally ignorate voters think that is kosher.

Good call tcsd, that is my take on it, too. That rathole called NYC can outvote the entire upstate NY. That cretin Spitzer was elected with majorities in only 5 counties. All of them in/near NYC.

You can be sure that cynical Hillary is counting on being elected by NYC and the union vote in Buffalo. Our best hope is massive registration and turnout in the rural counties of NYS. Please, do anything you can to register voters in the Finger Lakes region.

It sure is a sad state of affairs, I Remember just back in 84 it wasnt nearly as bad as it is today and it seems like the increase in oppression is exponetial.
