Somewhat cryptic title, but the bottom line is to contact your local pol and pressure him to vote against it.

Thumbnail intent of bill: To register all handguns in California and to require licensing of individuals who are allowed by the government to own a handgun before one can even be acquired.

On August 7, 2000, AB273 was unanimously voted to be put into suspense. That means that changes to the bill have been reviewed and the bill will remain in the Senate Appropriations Committee until the Senate votes on it.

I was unable to obtain the date that the Senate will vote on this bill. Therefore, I urge you to fax, call, and e-mail your local Senators today! I AM CONCERNED THAT THE SENATE MAY TRY TO VOTE ON THIS AS EARLY AS TOMORROW OR THURSDAY!

Remember, this is being voted on by your LOCAL Senators, not Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer who are U.S. Senators.

PLEASE CONTACT YOUR SENATORS ASAP TO OPPOSE AB273!!! WE CANNOT LET THIS ONE PASS!!!

Just sent message to senator. Thanks for update. Hopefully more people on this forum will contact their senator and voice their opposition to this garbage.
 
Called my Senator. The aid said the Senator was opposed. I told her I was vehemently opposed. She laughed and said that they had received lots of calls like mine.
 
I already called,wrote, and will probably be faxing. Also included Gov. Davis in all my correspondence.

My Sen is against.
 
I sent my complaints in a week ago, and haven't heard from either my senator or representative yet. And they're both Republicans.
 
The "find your senator" function says it doesn't recognize my address...
 
Jeff it found mine, maybe use an adress nearby that is on a large main street?

Got standard responce back on email, will have to get printer cartridge and mail hard copy of opposition.

Also metioned davis and his idiotic support sb 23 and how crime would not drop a bit but legislativley creating felons would as 23 and 89 awb have already done. Dont worry said it a little nicer than above.
