CA governmental study I am participating in.
Ok, so at the last minute, I'm invited to this study.
It's tomorrow morning. The study is being done by an independent research company, on behalf of the Hewlett corporation(I think that's Hewlett-Packard, but I'm not sure). It's going to be "a dialogue regarding current issues affecting the state of CA".
While on the phone with me, they asked questions about size of government, and personal freedoms, and wanted to know if I think the state is "headed in the right direction".
So, they're going to pay me $125 for my opinion, and the results of the survey will be "reported back to decision makers and political leaders in your region and the state level as well".
This is going to be a group setting, a big round table sort of thing. I might have a chance to have some debate will real non gunnies, as well.
I'm going to bring up CCW problems and the CA AWB. Do any of you(especially fellow PRK residents) have any other BOR suggestions or gun related issues? I figure this is a good opportunity to speak about RKBA.

Other than what you've noted:
RKBA: There IS no RKBA in the Kalifornistan Constitution.
Economy: State spending out of control.
Most problems due to gerrymander-guaranteed Demoncrat majority legislature for eternity (and Repugnican acquiesence 'way too often.) :barf:
Short term solution - part time legislature as before the 1960's; those bozos have 'WAY to much time on their hands to think up and pass ludicrous and dangerous laws. Make 'em actually earn a living in the real world at least part of the year.

The PRK const does have a RKBA statement in a manner of speaking.

Artical 3 section 1 of the PRK Const:

The State of California is an inseparable part of the United States of America, and the United States Constitution is the supreme law of the land.

Think of it as an #include statement.

Jim-

The PRK const does have a RKBA statement in a manner of speaking.

Except the SCOTUS has never explicitly said that the 2nd Amendment (or the 9th or 10th) applies to the states, as it has for the 1st, 4th, 5th and 8th under the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th. That fact has been used to deny RKBA at the Fed Appelate and state level and the denial has been left standing by SCOTUS' refusal to rule otherwise.
