When I bought this Charter Arms Bulldog .44 Spl. 2.5" I had no intention of making it my EDC handgun. But now I carry it i'd say 85% of the time. And when i'm not it's a S&W J-Frame 442-2 or 638-3 .38 SPL+P,I PC them mostly. I stop carrying my Semi auto's for now anyway, can't say forever. Back to my CA Bulldog i keep it loaded with .44 special 240 gr. Anybody else here carry a CA Bulldog .44 special at least 75% of the time edc?

Looks nice. I'm wanting one lately. I have started carrying my 637 in an OWB holster full time these days. I'm in a revolver fad right now. I have always wanted a CA Bulldog just to have and I think I will buy one in the next few weeks. I also have my eye on the CA Police Undercover model.

How is the double action trigger pull compared to the 442?

The only difference I can tell, is I can SA the Bulldog, the pull is about the same to me shooting both DA. That's my opinion EIGHTYDUECE!

Very nice. I'm thinking about the On Duty.

OP - I have a Mag Pug that I carry once in awhile it’s proven to be a five piece. Those grips really nice are they Altamont.

At some point I plan on getting bulldog. I fired one onee at the CA factory. It was nice.

I have one just like Jmag's. I really like the shrouded hammer. I have had it for several years and it is 100% reliable. I am particularly fond of the big heavy bullets. It is larger and heavier than my other carry pieces, but in cold weather it is always in my coat pocket.

Those use a larger frame than Charter's .38s, right?

I wanted one for quite a while, ended up with a .45 XDS with the same power and capacity. So, maybe not, now.

I have seemed always to have a Charter or two ... I have 3 at this time ..a Charter Bulldog 2.5 inch barreled 44spl .. A On duty light 38 spl .. , and a Goldfinger 38spl ... I really like the size and weight ... 44 spl 20 oz sightly larger than a J frame .. The alumium frame 38 spl weighing in at 12 oz ... With a lifetime warrenty..

I had a new Bulldog bought in 2005, the bad taste of that piece of junk still lingers. Hope you fare better then I did with Charter.

All gun manufacturers put out a bad apple .... I have 3 Ruger 357 mag revolvers a GP100 , Security Six and a LCR 357 ....
A no SP101 ... Had one out of time .. Had one that had a horroble blemish on the frame ..and had a tight chamber ...
I didn't give up on Ruger but I did on the SP101. , as my buddy put it " Its not meant for you to own a SP101"

You will like your gun...

I have had them for more than 30yrs with good service. Matter of fact, I have 6 right now...this one just came in on Monday.
